The Group uses alternative key ratios to increase the reader’s understanding of the operation’s development. It is our judgment that the alternative key ratios contributes to it being easier to value and analyze the Group’s development within important areas such as opportunities for dividends and execution of future strategic investments as well as the Group’s ability to live up to various financial obligations. Some alternative key ratios such as adjusted EBIT and adjusted EBIT-margins also enable investors to better judge the results development between the years, excluding posts that affect the comparability.

Adjusted EBIT Operating profit is profit after amortization of acquisition- related intangible assets and before financial items and tax, excluding items affecting comparability.
Adjusted EBIT margin Adjusted EBIT as a percentage of total operating income.
Cash and cash equivalents Cash and bank balances as well as short-term investments.
Earnings per share Net profit for the period divided by the number of shares.
EBITDA Operating results refers to results before depreciations of acquisition-related intangible assets and before financial posts and tax, excluding comparable posts.
Equity/assets ratio Equity divided by total assets.
FTE Full Time Equivalent – average number of FTE employees.
Heads Number of employees at the end of the period regardless of the employee’s employment rate.
Investments Net of investments and divestments in tangible and intangi- ble assets, excluding acquisition-related investments.
Items affecting comparability Items affecting comparability are recognized separately to more clearly show development in the underlying operations. Items affecting comparability are items such as consultancy costs in connection with acquisitions, costs arising from strategic decisions and costs from significant restructuring of business operations.
Margin Net profit/loss for the period divided by total revenue.
Revenue Refers to school vouchers and grants based on socioeconomic considerations.
Net debt Interest-bearing liabilities minus cash and cash equivalents.
Number of shares Number of shares according to the share register.
Operating capital Current assets excluding cash and cash equivalents minus operating liabilities.
Other income Income from Junior Club and compensation for förstelärare (teachers with a leadership and training role) and other government grants.
